세종시가 11일 깨끗한 도시미관 조성을 위해 현수막 청정지역을 기존 6곳에서 총 30곳으로 대폭 확대한다고 밝혔다.
이번에 새롭게 지정된 청정지역은 정부세종청사 인근 13곳, 시청·교육청 인근 3곳, 그리고 반곡교차로, 세종교차로, 주추지하차도교차로, 파란달교차로, 연기사거리, 상리사거리, 신흥사거리, 봉안교차로 등 24곳이다.
세종시는 각종 현수막이 운전자의 시야를 방해해 교통사고를 유발할 가능성이 높은 주요 도로변을 중심으로 청정지역을 선정했다.
새롭게 지정된 현수막 청정지역에 대해서는 2월 한 달간 홍보 및 계도 기간을 갖고, 해당 기간이 종료되면 상시 단속을 강화할 예정이다. 불법 현수막이 적발될 경우 즉시 제거하며, 무관용 원칙에 따라 과태료 처분도 이뤄질 계획이다.
또한, 시는 각 정당 및 기관에 청정지역 내 현수막 게시 최소화를 협조 요청하고, 현수막 청정지역 30곳을 적극적으로 홍보하여 불법 현수막 없는 깨끗한 도시 조성을 통해 도시 가치를 높이는 데 힘쓸 예정이다.
