브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 조원진 우리공화당 대표는 더불어민주당이 35조원 규모의 추가경정예산을 정부에 제안한 것과 관련 "경제성장률이 낮아질 가능성이 커짐에 따라 추경은 불가피하다"라면서도 "그러나 이재명 대표가 추경 필요성을 주장하고 있는 본심은 민생회복이 아니라 ‘조기대선용 매표’에 있는 듯하다"고 비판했다.
조원진 대표는 14일 보도자료를 통해 "민생경제 회복을 목표로 해야지, 민주당 방식처럼 정치적 목적을 위한 추경은 바람직하지 않다"라며 이같이 밝혔다.
조 대표는 "이번 추경은 민생경제 회복과 성장잠재력 확충이라는 두 가지 목표를 고려해야 한다"며 "민생경제 회복을 위해서는 가장 경제적 어려움을 겪고 있는 계층에 맞춤형 지원을 해야 한다"고 강조했다.
또한 "전 국민 25만원 민생지원금은 잘못된 정책이며, 성장잠재력 확충을 위해 반도체, AI 산업 등 미래 먹거리에 집중해야 한다"고 덧붙였다.
한편, 민주당에 이어 정부에서도 추경에는 긍정적 태도를 보이고 있다. 최상목 대통령 권한대행은 앞서 대정부질문에서 "정부도 민생이 어렵고 글로벌 교역의 불확실성이 있어 추경이 필요하다고 판단한다"며 추경의 기본 원칙을 국정협의회에서 논의할 필요성을 언급했다.
다만 추경에 대한 여야의 합의는 어려운 상황이다. 국민의힘 호준석 대변인은 "이재명 대표는 민생지원금 때문에 추경을 편성할 수 없다고 했지만, 결국 전 국민 25만원 민생지원금이 포함된 추경안을 제시했다"며 이를 '조기 대선용'이라고 비판하고 있다.
