[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 서부경남 4개 군(산청·함양·거창·합천) 군수와 지역구 신성범 국회의원이 국립공원공단 이사장을 초청해 제4차 서부경남 4개 군 행정협의회를 거창군에서 지난 23일 개최했다.

서부경남 4개 군 행정협의회는 △인구·지역소멸 대응 계획 및 대응방안 △연계협력사업 공동 발굴 및 대응 △일자리·주거·의료·복지 등 현안사업 공동대응 대책수립 △기타 공동대응이 필요한 주요 현안사업 등을 논의하기 위해 결성됐으며, 분기별로 4개 군을 순회하며 개최하고 있다.

이번 회의에서는 2027년 경상남도 도민체육대회의 4개 군 공동 유치와 개최를 위한 협력방안과 4개 군을 둘러싸고 있는 덕유산, 가야산, 지리산 국립공원과 관련한 현안과 발전방향을 국립공원공단에 건의하는 등 4개 군 공동발전을 위한 과제가 논의됐다.

송형근 국립공원공단 이사장은 “서부경남 4개 군과 관련된 국립공원 현안에 대하여 깊이 알 수 있었으며, 이번 행정협의회 건의내용을 반영하여 4개 군 발전에 기여할 수 있도록 노력하겠다"라고 말했다.

신성범 국회의원은 “4개 군 공동 현안을 논의할 수 있는 뜻깊은 자리였다”라며 “서부경남의 공동발전을 위해 함께 힘을 모으자”고 소감을 밝혔다.

한편, 신성범 국회의원은 작년 하반기 서부경남 4개 군의 현안사업과 재난안전 해소를 위한 행정안전부 특별교부세 총 13개 사업, 77억 원을 확보한 바 있다.
