충남 보령시가 한국철도공사 대천관리역과 협력하여 기차 관광을 통한 지역 관광산업의 발전을 도모하고 있다.
양 기관은 지난해 5월 업무협약을 체결하며, 관광객 유치를 위한 다양한 공동 노력을 펼치기로 했다.
