[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시 만덕센텀 도시고속화도로 인근 지반 침하 구간에 대한 정밀 조사 결과, 공사로 인한 대형 공동은 없는 것으로 확인됐다.
부산시는 지난 4월 5일 발생한 내성 및 수영강변 지하차도 일원의 포장면 침하와 관련하여 국토안전관리원과 합동으로 GPR(지표투과레이더) 탐사를 실시한 결과, 공사 구간 내 공동이 발견되지 않았다고 밝혔다.
이번 조사는 침하가 발생한 지점뿐만 아니라 공사 범위 밖의 인근 도로까지 포함하여 광범위하게 진행됐다. 조사 결과 실제 지반 침하가 일어났던 구간에서는 지하 빈 공간인 공동이 확인되지 않아 땅꺼짐에 대한 직접적인 우려는 해소된 것으로 보인다.
다만 공사 영향 범위 밖의 기존 도로 3개 지점에서 깊이 7~15cm 규모의 경미한 공동이 발견됐다. 내성지하차도 인근 지하시설물 밀집 구간에서 2개, 수영강변지하차도 해운대 방향 측도에서 1개가 각각 확인됐다. 부산시는 해당 도로관리청에 관련 사실을 통보했으며, 원인 파악을 위한 굴착 조사 후 즉시 복구 작업을 진행할 방침이다.
국토안전관리원은 점검 보고서를 통해 내성지하차도에서 발견된 공동은 주변 지하시설물 손상 여부를 확인한 뒤 3개월 내에 복구할 것을 권고했다. 또한 수영강변지하차도의 공동은 즉시 복구하고 균열 구간 전체에 대한 추가 조사가 필요하다는 의견을 제시했다.
부산시는 향후 시민 안전을 위해 만덕~센텀 구간에 대한 지속적인 모니터링을 이어갈 계획이다. 특히 지반 침하에 취약한 나들목(IC) 주변 개착 공사 구간은 주기적으로 GPR 탐사를 실시하고, 도로관리청의 육안 점검을 병행하는 등 선제적인 안전 관리에 만전을 기할 예정이다.

Ground Subsidence at Mandeok-Centum Expressway Found to Have No Underground Cavities Following Precision Inspection
The Busan Metropolitan Government has confirmed that no major underground cavities exist within the construction zone of the Mandeok-Centum Great Underground Road following a precision inspection of recent pavement subsidence.
On April 5, Busan City, in collaboration with the Korea Authority of Land Infrastructure Safety (KALIS), conducted a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey and detailed investigation of the areas near the Naeseong and Suyeonggangbyeon Underpasses where pavement had settled by approximately 5 to 7 cm. The results showed that the ground beneath the affected sections remains stable with no signs of cavities.
The investigation covered both the active construction sites and adjacent roads. While the construction zone itself was clear, three minor cavities with depths ranging from 7 to 15 cm were identified in existing roads outside the scope of the project's impact. Specifically, two cavities were found near an apartment complex by the Naeseong Underpass in an area dense with underground utilities, and one was located under a crack in the side lane of the Suyeonggangbyeon Underpass heading toward Haeundae.
Busan City immediately notified the relevant road management authorities of these findings. Plans are underway to conduct exploratory excavations to determine the exact cause of these minor cavities and perform swift repairs to ensure public safety.
In its final report, KALIS recommended that the two cavities near the Naeseong Underpass be repaired within three months after checking for potential damage to nearby underground facilities. For the Suyeonggangbyeon Underpass, the authority advised immediate restoration of the identified cavity and a comprehensive additional survey of the entire cracked section.
The city plans to maintain rigorous safety management to alleviate citizen concerns. This includes continuous monitoring of the Mandeok-Centum Expressway, periodic GPR surveys of excavation sections near interchanges vulnerable to subsidence, and regular visual inspections. Busan City emphasized its commitment to taking preemptive safety measures whenever abnormal signs are detected to minimize public inconvenience.
