충남 홍성군이 지역 딸기 농가의 재배 기술 향상과 성공적인 정착을 돕기 위해 ‘홍성군딸기연구회 징검다리 프로그램’을 본격적으로 운영한다.
이 프로그램은 신규 농업인과 재배에 어려움을 겪는 농가를 대상으로 진행되며, 경험이 풍부한 전문 농업인이 1:1 멘토링을 통해 재배 기술을 전수하고, 현장 실습 교육 및 문제 해결 세미나 등을 지원하는 방식이다.
홍성군농업기술센터는 지난 21일 선도 농가 2명, 멘티 20명 및 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 멘토·멘티 상견례를 개최했다. 이후 3월 8일 육묘 현장 교육을 시작으로 본격적인 2025년 활동을 추진할 예정이다.
이번 프로그램은 지난해에 이어 2년째 운영되며, 기존 멘토-멘티 방식에서 한 단계 발전한 형태로 진행된다. 특히, 이상 기온에 대비한 육묘 기술 실습 교육을 강화하고, 실질적인 농장 경영 방법까지 폭넓게 다룰 예정이다.
홍성군딸기연구회(회장 한항우)가 중심이 되어 자발적으로 추진하는 점도 주목할 만하다. 기존의 외부 지원 없이 연구회 자체적으로 운영되며, 지역 농가의 실질적인 재배 기술 향상을 위한 장기적인 노력을 보여주고 있다.
멘토로 활동하는 한항우 회장은 40년간의 딸기 재배 경험을 바탕으로, 고설재배 등의 신기술 도입을 선도해 온 농업인이다. 그는 과거에도 농업 경험이 부족한 귀농인들에게 성공적인 재배법을 전수하며, 지역 농가의 발전에 기여해 왔다.
홍성군은 앞으로 지속적이고 균일한 무병 원묘 보급을 위해 전문 육묘장을 확대하고, 바이러스가 없는 고품질 원묘 생산을 늘려 딸기 품질 향상과 농가 소득 안정화를 도모할 계획이다.
