'나'라는 존재에 대한 묵상을 해본다.
나는 5대에 걸친 인간의 삶을 공유해왔다. 나의 기억 속에는 할아버지-할머니, 아버지-어머니, 나, 아들, 손자-손녀 시대의 기억공간이 있다. 1대를 30년으로 계산하면, 30×5=150여 년, 이 기간의 실제적 경험이 피부에 와 닿는다.
그러하다면? '나'라는 존재는 과연 어떤 위치에 있을까?
1,나의 경험상, 자신할 수 있는 건, 5대에 걸친 삶 속에서 내가 가장 부유하게 살고 있다는 사실이다.
2,'나'는 위에서 언급한 5대의 삶 가운데, 가장 첨단문명의 혜택을 누리며 살아왔고, 살고 있다. 발전된 주거환경, 첨단 가전제품 사용, 빠르고 안전한 대중교통 활용, 고등 교육 수혜, 글로벌 사회 자유여행 등등의 혜택을 누리고 있다.
3,'나'라는 존재는 그 어느 시대보다 자유를 누리고 있다.
이러한 때, 나의 가치가 무언지를 확실하게 인식할 필요가 있다. 아래~
1,내가 '나'를 존경할 수 있는 자존감을 지녀야 한다. 나의 선조들 가운데 나보다 더 나은 물질문명을 향유한 선조는 없다.
2,'나'라는 존재는 우주적인 가치를 지닌 존귀한 존재임을 알아차려야 한다.
3,이러한, 나의 존귀한 가치를 스스로 확인, 생존의 의미를 증득해야만 한다.
위의 두 가지 큰 줄기에서...'나'라는 존재는 그 어떤 시기보다 행복하게 살고 있음에, 내 삶에 스스로 감사할 수 있어야 한다.
그러하니, 나는 늘 하하하 웃으며 살아야할 귀하고도 귀한 존재이다. 나를 귀하게 여기는 '자존의식'을 최고 수위로 높여야만 한다. 이런 좋은 세상에, 대한민국은 세계 자살률 1위 국가이다. 이는 자신에 대한 존귀감과 연계되어 있다고 생각한다. 스스로를 귀하게 여긴다면, 자살에 이르지는 않을 것이다.
