Kim Doo-kwan believes that the end of the civil war and national unity are the spirit of the times. I promise to devote my whole body and soul to the end of the civil war and national unity in order to set right the Republic of Korea that Yoon Seok-yeol has destroyed.
First, I will completely isolate the leader of the separatist movement, Yoon Seok-yeol, from society. The political civil war is evolving into a physical civil war. Park Geun-hye, Song Young-gil, and Lee Jae-myung have already been attacked, and for the first time since the founding of the country, the court, the bastion of the rule of law, has been attacked by rioters. The civil war is spreading further due to Yoon Seok-yeol's coup. Yoon Seok-yeol's greatest sin is that he brought back dictatorship, which was thought to have disappeared as a relic of history, and fostered extreme right-wing forces. I will take the lead in permanently isolating Yoon Seok-yeol from society and thoroughly ending extreme right-wing fascism. I will never pardon Yoon Seok-yeol, who was dismissed for sedition, and I will make sure he serves his entire sentence in prison.
Second, I will take the lead in the constitutional amendment for a shorter term and the political reform of the multi-member district system.
Third, I will not engage in fandom politics but will only look at the people. Yoon Seok-yeol forgot his position as president and fell into the arms of his extreme right-wing supporters, splitting the country in two. If Representative Lee Jae-myung does not dismantle his fandom, he will inevitably become a half-president. I reject half-presidential politics. I, Kim Du-gwan, a politician of unity and harmony, will become a politician who looks at the entire nation and practices it.
Fourth, I will restore the Democratic Party to a moderate progressive party. The Democratic Party was all about diversity, democracy, and progress. But at some point, it became a one-man party for Lee Jae-myung. Democracy within the party disappeared, and when someone expressed a different opinion, extreme supporters launched personal attacks. Representative Lee’s words became a platform, a platform, and a policy. If Representative Lee is a conservative party, it becomes a conservative party, and even if he says to cut taxes for the rich, no one will oppose it.
Kim Du-gwan will restore the Democratic Party to a democratic party. I will create a mosaic party, not a one-man party. I will return it to a party that pursues change and innovation while competing with various ideologies. I will prevent the Democratic Party from becoming conservative. The Democratic Party is a moderate progressive by nature. In particular, after the collapse of the Justice Party, which called itself a progressive party, progressivism has become the destiny entrusted to the Democratic Party. Ending the civil war and national unity are the spirit of the times, and constitutional revision and the multi-party system are institutional devices that will embody the spirit of the times. The next president must be someone with a public mind rather than selfishness. A political leader who divides the world into ‘my side, your side’ with the black-and-white logic of ‘I am right, you are wrong’ can never end the civil war.
The world is a closely connected organism. It is not black and white, but full of color. There is no existence that is not necessary. In particular, the president must be someone who can recognize and embrace diversity and differences with an organic worldview. Only then can we unite the people. I will become ‘a strong Kim Du-kwan in an unstable era.’ I will become a ladder for the people that achieves national unity and a change of government.
