브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= KT는 B5G(Beyond 5G)/6G 진화 백서인 ‘5G 지능형 패킷 코어(Unlock 5G Potential: How Intelligent Packet Core Drive 5G Monetization)’를 MWC25에서 공식 발간했다고 6일 밝혔다.
세계 최초로 5G 상용화 경험이 있는 KT는 B5G/6G 시대의 AI 기반 네트워크의 진화 방향을 백서에서 제시했다. ‘5G 지능형 패킷 코어’는 기존 5G 패키 코어에 AI 기술을 접목해 패킷 트래픽을 효율적으로 처리하는 기술이다. 해당 기술은 이동통신 사업자들이 고객에게 개인화된 서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 지원한다.
특히, KT는 고객 경험 향상을 위한 NWDAF의 AI 기반 코어망 기술과 개방형 API(Application Programming Interface)를 활용해 효율적인 연동 환경을 제공하는 Open Gateway API의 사용 사례 소개를 백서에 담았다.
‘Intelligent Packet Core – GSMA Foundry’는 네트워크와 AI를 융합해 고객에게 차별화된 서비스 및 경험을 제공하기 위한 프로젝트다.
KT는 2024년부터 참여 중이며 AIS, Etisalat, 차이나모바일, 화웨이 등 8개 주요 글로벌 통신사업자와 5G 장비 제조사들도 속해 있다. KT는 해당 기업들과 이번 GSMA 백서 작업을 통해 기술 진화와 사업모델 협력을 위한 기반을 마련했다.
