브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 더불어민주당 서울특별시당은 20일 오세훈 서울시장에 대한 검찰의 압수수색과 관련해 "늦어진 만큼 신속한 수사를 통해 국민적 의혹을 해소해야 한다"고 촉구했다.
이인애 대변인은 이날 서면브리핑을 통해 "검찰이 오 시장의 불법 여론조작 및 여론조사 대납 의혹을 수사하며 오늘 시장의 사무실과 자택을 압수수색했다"며 "그러나 이번 압수수색은 의혹이 처음 불거진 작년 11월 이후에서야 이뤄졌다. 야당을 향한 신속한 수사와 비교하면 지나치게 늦은 조치"라고 비판했다.
이어 "검찰은 여론조사업체 PNR 대표 서 씨로부터 '명태균 씨 쪽이 처음부터 오 시장을 위해 일한다는 느낌을 받았다'는 진술을 확보한 것으로 알려졌다"며 "오 시장이 여론조사 결과에서 높게 나오길 기대하는 분위기가 감지됐다는 증언도 나왔다"고 지적했다.
이 대변인은 또한 "2021년 1월 25일 오 시장의 최측근인 강철원 전 정무부시장과 명 씨가 서울시장 보궐선거 여론조사 설문지를 주고받은 정황도 드러났다"며 "이처럼 모든 증언과 증거가 오 시장을 지목하고 있는 만큼, 검찰은 더 이상 늦추지 말고 철저한 수사로 진실을 밝혀야 한다"고 강조했다.
그러면서 "오세훈 시장은 그동안 신속한 수사를 촉구해왔다. 이제는 궤변으로 명 씨와의 관계를 부인하거나 물타기를 시도할 것이 아니라 성실히 조사에 임해야 한다"고 덧붙였다.
