충남 보령시보건소가 실종 위험이 있는 치매 환자들을 위해 ‘실종 예방 각인 목걸이’를 지원한다고 31일 밝혔다.
이 목걸이는 치매 환자의 이름과 보호자 연락처를 각인해 위급 상황 발생 시 신속한 신원 확인과 안전한 귀가를 돕는 역할을 한다.
각인 목걸이는 의료용 기기에 사용되는 써지컬스틸 소재로 제작돼 변색이나 피부 자극이 없으며, 치매 환자들이 일상생활에서 편안하게 착용할 수 있도록 했다. 앞면에는 카네이션 문양이 새겨져 있어 치매 환자에 대한 존중과 따뜻한 배려의 의미를 담았다.
보령시는 올해 처음으로 100명의 치매 환자에게 각인 목걸이를 제공하며, 사용자 만족도와 실효성을 평가한 후 향후 사업 지속 여부를 결정할 계획이다. 지원 대상은 보령시에 거주하는 치매 환자로, 치매안심센터를 방문해 신청할 수 있다.
그동안 보령시보건소는 인식표 발급(1,246명), 지문 사전 등록(899명), 배회 감지기 보급(51명) 등 다양한 실종 예방 사업을 추진해왔다.
