브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 故 최종현 SK 선대회장의 경영 활동 일체가 유고 27년 만에 세상에 나온다. 이른 바 ‘선경실록’으로 불릴 만큼 방대한 사실의 기록은 한국 근현대 경제史를 연구하는 중요한 사료로 쓰일 전망이다.
SK는 그룹 수장고 등에 장기간 보관해 온 30~40여 년 전 경영철학과 기업활동 관련 자료를 △발굴 △디지털로 변환 △영구 보존·활용하는 ‘디지털 아카이브’ 프로젝트를 지난달 말 완료했다고 2일 밝혔다. 2023년 ‘창사 70주년 어록집’ 제작을 발간하는 과정에서 옛 자료의 역사적 가치를 확인하고, 프로젝트를 추진한지 2년 만이다.
최 선대회장은 사업 실적·계획 보고, 구성원과 간담회, 각종 회의와 행사 등을 녹음해 원본으로 남겼다. 이를 통해 그룹의 경영 철학과 기법을 발전시키고, 궁극적으로 우리나라 기업 경영의 수준을 높이고자 했다. 이 같은 방침은 ‘SK 고유의 기록 문화’로 계승됐다.

최 선대회장은 1982년 신입구성원과의 대화를 통해 “땅덩어리가 넓은 미국에서도 인재라면 외국 사람도 쓰는 마당에 한국이라는 좁은 땅덩어리에 지연, 학연, 파벌을 형성하면 안 된다”라며, 한국의 관계지상주의를 깨자고 임기 내내 여러 차례 강조한다.
