[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군이 농번기 인력난 해소를 위해 공공형 계절근로자 사업을 본격적으로 운영한다.
이에 지난 7일 필리핀 푸라시와의 업무협약을 통해 선발된 공공형 계절근로자 66명의 입국을 시작으로 올해 총 70명이 도입될 예정이다.
지난해 30명 대비 2.3배 확대된 규모로, 최저임금 수준의 인건비로 근로자를 공급함으로써 일손 부족으로 영농규모 확대에 어려움을 겪는 농가에 실질적인 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.
공공형 계절근로자 사업은 한 농가와 계약을 맺어 5~8개월간 장기 고용되는 방식인 농가형 계절근로자와 달리, 단기적으로 근로자가 필요한 농가에 투입되는 제도이다.
이를 통해 인력이 유동적으로 배치될 수 있어 농업 생산성이 향상되고, 농가에서도 필요한 시기에 맞춰 인력을 공급받을 수 있다.
올해 공공형 계절근로자 사업은 지난해와 동일하게 북부농협에서 운영을 맡아 추진한다.
공공형 계절근로자의 급여는 일당 8만1,000원으로 전국에서 가장 저렴한 수준이다.
