[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 군민들의 올바른 생활계 유해폐기물 배출 및 처리를 유도하기 위해 지난 9일 1분기 생활계 유해폐기물 일제 수거의 날을 운영하고 약 450kg의 유해폐기물을 수거했다.

생활계 유해폐기물이란 가정에서 발생하는 생활폐기물 중 질병 유발, 신체 손상 등 인간의 건강과 환경에 피해를 줄 수 있는 폐기물을 말하며 주요 품목으로는 폐농약, 폐형광등, 폐페인트, 소형 전자기기, 생활화학제품 등이 있다.

생활계 유해폐기물은 명확한 배출 체계 없이 무분별하게 배출되는 사례가 많아 환경오염이 우려되는 상황이었다.

이에 군은 올해 초부터 각 가정에서 배출하는 생활계 유해폐기물의 안전한 처리를 위해 생활계 유해폐기물 처리 지원사업을 추진하고 있으며 전 읍면을 통해 연중 수요조사를 하고 있다.
