브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 국민의힘은 10일 대한민국 임시정부 수립 106주년을 맞은 것과 관련 "임시정부 통합 정신을 계승해, 다시 위대한 대한민국을 만들겠다"고 밝혔다.
신동욱 국민의힘 수석대변인은 이날 논평을 통해 "조국의 독립을 위해 피땀 흘리셨던 순국선열들의 고귀한 희생과 헌신에 머리 숙여 경의를 표하며, 독립유공자분들과 유족분들께도 감사의 뜻을 전한다"며 이같이 말했다.
그는 "1919년 애국지사들의 노력으로 각지에 흩어져있던 임시정부가 통합됐고, 그렇게 수립된 대한민국임시정부는 독립운동의 구심점이자 중추적 역할을 했다"며 "임시정부의 통합과 평등 정신은 대한민국 헌법의 근간을 이루고 있는 임시정부 헌장에도 담겨 있다"고 강조했다.
이어 "그러나 오늘날 대한민국은 극렬한 정쟁과 사회적 갈등으로 많은 국민들의 우려를 낳고 있다"면서 "증오와 혐오의 정치를 끝내기 위해 정치권의 자성을 촉구하는 목소리가 그 어느 때보다 높다"고 지적했다.
심 수석대변인은 또한 "국민의힘은 임시정부 수립 106년을 맞아, 통합의 정신을 새기겠다"며 "국민들의 염원에 따라 사회적 갈등과 분열을 반드시 극복하겠다"고 약속했다.
그러면서 "애국지사들의 숭고한 희생을 기리며, 다시 위대한 대한민국을 만들기 위해 국민과 함께 힘차게 정진하겠다"고 덧붙였다.
