브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= KT는 삼성전자와 협력해 스팸·스미싱 의심 문자에 ‘악성 문자로 의심’이라는 문구를 표시하는 ‘악성 문자 주의 알림’ 서비스를 MMS(멀티미디어메시지)로 확대 적용한다고 14일 밝혔다.
이 서비스는 KT의 인공지능(AI)이 스팸 및 스미싱 가능성이 있는 문자를 실시간으로 판별하고, 삼성전자 안드로이드 스마트폰에서 별도 애플리케이션 설치 없이 직관적인 사용자 인터페이스(UI)로 표시해 고객의 주의를 유도하는 기능이다.
2024년 12월부터 SMS(단문문자)에 먼저 적용돼 현재까지 37종 삼성전자 단말기에서 약 700만명의 KT 고객에게 제공 중이며, 내달 말까지 MMS로 적용 범위를 확장한다.
표시된 문자를 샘플 분석한 결과, 99%가 도박, 불법 대출, 성인 콘텐츠 등 악성 스팸 및 광고 문자로 확인돼 서비스의 실효성이 입증됐다.
KT AX혁신지원본부장 이병무 상무는 “스팸과 비스팸의 경계에 있는 모호한 문자까지 세심하게 판별해 고객이 보다 안전하게 통신 서비스를 이용할 수 있도록 돕겠다”며 “앞으로도 삼성전자와 협력해 고객 피해를 예방하는 차별화된 서비스를 지속 확대해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
