부여군 드림스타트, 취약계층 주거환경 개선 사업 수행

충남 부여군 드림스타트가 지난 12일, 남면에 거주하는 주거 취약계층 아동 가정을 대상으로 주거환경을 개선하는 뜻깊은 활동을 펼쳤다고 14일 밝혔다. 

이번 사업은 단순한 청소를 넘어 지역사회가 힘을 모아 복지 사각지대에 놓인 가정을 지원한 모범 사례로 주목받고 있다.

이번 환경개선은 통합사례회의에서 심각한 위생 문제와 안전이 우려되는 가정의 실태가 공유되면서 긴급하게 추진됐다. 특히 해당 가정에는 중복장애를 지닌 아동 두 명을 포함한 다섯 식구가 함께 거주하고 있었으며, 장기간 방치된 쓰레기와 열악한 실내외 상태로 인해 일상생활조차 어려운 상황이었다.

이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 군은 지역 내 민간단체와 협력에 나섰다. 부여로타리클럽을 비롯해 선화로타리클럽, 중앙로타리클럽, 백제미소로타리클럽 등 총 50여 명의 자원봉사자들이 한마음으로 동참해 정리정돈과 위생 개선 작업을 진행했다. 봉사자들은 각종 폐기물을 분류하고, 집 안팎을 말끔히 청소하며 주거공간에 활력을 불어넣었다.

깨끗하게 바뀐 집을 바라본 가족은 "깨끗하게 청소해 주셔서 너무 감사하다. 앞으로 자녀들을 더욱 잘 돌보고 깨끗한 환경을 유지하기 위해 노력하겠다"고 전하며 감격의 눈물을 보이기도 했다. 

박정현 부여군수는 “더위가 본격화되기 전 주거환경이 개선되어 정말 다행”이라며 “앞으로도 건강, 교육, 정서 등 다양한 영역에서 아동과 가족의 삶의 질을 높일 수 있도록 맞춤형 복지 지원을 강화해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다. 

이어 “이웃의 어려움에 발 벗고 나서준 봉사단체 여러분께도 진심으로 감사드린다”고 전했다.

한편, 드림스타트는 오는 5월 30일에도 주거환경이 시급한 또 다른 가정을 대상으로 환경개선 사업을 실시할 예정이다. 부여군은 앞으로도 민관이 협력하는 다양한 복지 프로그램을 통해 지역 내 소외된 이웃에게 실질적인 도움을 전하고자 지속적인 노력을 이어갈 방침이다.

Meanwhile, Dream Start plans to carry out an environmental improvement project for another family in urgent need of a living environment on May 30. Buyeo County plans to continue its efforts to provide practical help to underprivileged neighbors in the region through various welfare programs in which the public and private sectors cooperate.
