충남 홍성군이 부정·불량 축산물 유통을 사전에 차단하고 소비자 신뢰를 확보하기 위해 5주간의 특별단속을 실시한다.
이번 단속은 충청남도 및 시·군과의 합동 교차단속 형태로 진행되며, 식육포장처리업, 식육판매업 등 축산물 취급업소와 초·중·고 급식 납품업체를 중심으로 점검이 이뤄진다.
주요 단속 항목은 ▲원산지 및 축산물 표시기준 위반(허위, 미표시) ▲소비기한 경과 제품 사용 ▲축산물 보관기준 미준수 여부 등이며, 위생 상태와 유통기준 준수 여부도 중점적으로 점검할 계획이다.
특히, 육우나 수입육을 한우로 둔갑 판매하는 불법 행위를 차단하기 위해 동물위생시험소, 축산물품질평가원과 협력해 유전자 검사도 병행한다.
김현기 안전관리과장은 “이번 특별 단속은 부정 유통을 근절하고 유전자 검사를 통해 쇠고기 유통 질서와 투명성을 확보하기 위한 것”이라며 “군민이 안심하고 먹을 수 있는 안전한 축산물 공급에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 홍성군은 이번 단속을 통해 불법·부정 축산물 유통을 사전에 차단하고, 한우 가격 하락으로 어려움을 겪는 지역 축산농가를 보호하는 한편 군민에게 안전한 먹거리를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.
