충남 홍성군이 바이오 의료기기 산업의 글로벌 시장 진출을 위한 핵심 거점으로 떠오르고 있다.
고령화로 인한 바이오 헬스케어 수요 증가에 대응해, 정부 공모사업에 선정된 홍성군은 앞으로 국내 바이오 의료기기 기업의 해외 진출을 체계적으로 지원하게 될 전망이다.
군은 17일, 산업통상자원부가 주관한 ‘바이오나노산업 개방형 생태계 조성 촉진 사업’ 공모에서 ‘바이오 의료기기 해외진출 지원 제로트러스트 기반 구축’ 사업이 최종 선정됐다고 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 향후 5년간 국비 98억 원을 포함한 총 249억 원의 예산이 투입되며, 바이오 의료기기 개발부터 해외 인증, 수출까지 전 과정에 걸쳐 종합적 지원이 이뤄진다. 주관기관은 건양대학교 내포산학협력단이며, 한국산업기술시험원, 건양대학교병원, 연세대학교 및 전남대학교 산학협력단이 함께 참여한다.
본 사업의 핵심 목표는 국내 바이오 의료기기가 설계 초기 단계부터 글로벌 기준에 맞춰 개발될 수 있도록 신뢰성 높은 기술 지원 체계를 갖추는 데 있다. 이를 위해 군은 미국 FDA, 유럽 MDR 등 주요 해외 인증을 빠르게 획득할 수 있도록 국제 규격 대응 전문센터와 글로벌 협력 네트워크를 구축할 예정이다.
특히 AI, IoT, 로봇 등 혁신 기술을 접목한 맞춤형 기술 지원 및 컨설팅을 제공함으로써, 국내 기업들이 글로벌 시장에서 경쟁력을 갖출 수 있도록 돕는다. 제품 개발부터 인허가 과정까지 사용 적합성 평가, 임상·비임상 실험 등 전 주기에 걸친 지원이 이뤄진다.
이용록 홍성군수는 “이번 사업 선정은 홍성군이 바이오 의료기기 산업의 중심지로 도약하는 전환점이 될 것”이라며, “국제 인증 지원 거점 구축을 통해 지역 기업들이 세계 시장으로 뻗어 나갈 수 있는 기반을 마련하고, 투자 유치와 지역 경제 활성화로 이어질 수 있도록 사업 추진에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 이번 사업을 통해 홍성군은 국내 바이오 의료기기 기업의 해외 진출을 위한 전략적 전진기지로 자리매김하고, 고부가가치 산업을 통해 지속 가능한 지역 발전을 도모할 계획이다.
