브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 한국마사회가 농림축산식품부와 도시 거주민들에게 특별한 여가 경험을 선사하는 ‘도심승마체험’ 프로그램을 올 10월까지 진행한다.
‘도심승마체험’은 승마에 대한 국민들의 접근성을 높이고, 도심 속에서 말을 접할 수 있는 특별한 기회를 제공하기 위해 기획된 무료 승마체험 행사다.
올해는 운영 규모를 전년도의 5곳 2만9000여 명에서 6곳 3만2000여 명으로 확대하고 지역 대표 축제와 연계해 더 많은 국민들에게 승마체험의 기회를 제공한다.
프로그램은 상반기에 서울경마공원을 시작으로, 이달 19일부터는 용인농촌테마파크, 5월 3일부터는 서울 영등포공원, 5월 16일부터는 울산 태화강공원, 5월 31일부터는 부산 태종대공원에서 진행된다. 하반기에는 안산 선부광장 등에서도 만나볼 수 있다.
각 지역별로 오전 10시부터 오후 5시까지 운영되며, 지역 축제 일정에 따라 변동될 수 있어 각 지자체 홈페이지를 통한 사전 확인이 권장된다.

이번 프로그램에는 경주마에서 은퇴한 후 순치와 조련을 통해 승용마로 변신한 퇴역경주마가 투입된다. 말들의 건강과 복지를 위해 매 시간 15분 이상의 휴식시간을 운영하며, 말복지 교육을 이수한 전문 인력이 체험을 진행한다.
