충남 계룡시가 주거 취약계층의 삶의 질 향상을 위해 ‘고령자·장애인 주택개선 사업’에 착수했다고 21일 밝혔다. 시는 대상 가구 선정을 마치고 이달부터 본격적인 개보수 작업을 시작한다.
이번 사업은 주거환경이 열악한 고령자와 장애인을 대상으로 안전하고 쾌적한 생활공간을 제공하기 위해 마련됐다. 시는 가구별 소득 수준, 주택 노후 상태, 거주자의 건강 여건 등을 종합적으로 검토한 결과, 고령자 1세대와 장애인 3세대를 최종 지원 대상으로 확정했다.
지원 내용은 대상자 유형에 따라 차등 적용된다. 고령자 가구에는 최대 700만 원, 장애인 가구에는 최대 380만 원까지 주택 보수 비용이 지원된다. 이를 통해 욕실 손잡이 설치, 경사로 조성, 미끄럼 방지 처리 등 실질적인 생활 편의 개선이 이뤄질 예정이다.
시 관계자는 “고령자와 장애인이 보다 안전하고 편리한 환경에서 생활할 수 있도록 지속적인 개선사업을 확대·추진할 계획”이라며, “앞으로도 지원 대상을 확대해 더 많은 취약 계층 가구들이 혜택을 누릴 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 전했다.
