충남 보령시는 지역 내 자활지원기관인 보령지역자활센터에서 다회용기 대여를 전문으로 하는 ‘푸른약속’ 센터의 개소식을 개최했다고 24일 밝혔다.
‘푸른약속’은 환경 보호와 자립 지원이라는 두 가지 목표를 동시에 실현하기 위해 추진된 사업으로, 지난해 강원랜드 사회공헌재단, 한국자활복지개발원, 한국중부발전(주)의 협력을 통해 총 2억 4,800만 원의 예산을 확보해 설립됐다.
해당 사업비는 고온 세척, 열풍 건조, 자외선 살균 기능을 갖춘 첨단 설비를 갖추는 데 사용됐다.
올해 1월부터 본격 운영을 시작한 이 사업장은 저소득층에게 안정적인 일자리를 제공하는 동시에, 다회용기 사용을 장려함으로써 일회용품 사용을 줄이고 환경 부담을 완화하는 데 중점을 두고 있다.
