브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 신동욱 국민의힘 수석대변인은 25일 제62회 법의 날을 맞아 “‘법의 날’은 국민의 준법정신을 높이고 법의 존엄성을 고취하기 위해 제정된 날이지만, 오늘날 대한민국의 현실은 안타깝기만 하다”고 말했다.
신 수석대변인은 이날 논평을 통해 “법 위에 군림하는 거대 야당의 일방적인 입법 독재로 법치주의는 훼손됐고, 자유민주주의도 위기에 처해 있다”며 이같이 밝혔다.
그는 “본인들 입맛에 맞지 않는다고 수십 번의 탄핵을 남발하고, 정략적 특검법은 물론 불법파업조장법, 방송법 개정안 등 여야가 합의하지 않은 입법을 일방적으로 처리하며 민생은 뒷전으로 밀린 지 오래”라고 비판했다.
이어 “졸속 입법으로 인한 피해는 결국 국민의 부담으로 돌아간다”며 “국회가 과연 국민의 삶을 돌보는 정치 본연의 책무를 다하고 있는지, 입법의 의미를 되돌아봐야 한다”고 지적했다.
신 수석대변인은 “국민의힘은 대한민국의 법치주의 회복과 민주주의 수호를 위해 국민을 위한 입법이 무엇인지 치열하게 고민해 나가겠다”고 강조했다.
