충남 금산군이 장기화된 경기 불황에 대응하고 지역경제 활력을 높이기 위해 관내 소상공인에게 총 13억 원이 넘는 경영정상화자금을 지원했다.
군은 7일 "이번 자금은 지난해 연매출이 1억400만원 미만인 소상공인을 대상으로 지급됐으며, 총 2,734명에게 1인당 50만원씩 금산사랑상품권 형태로 전달했다"고 밝혔다. 상품권은 모바일과 종이형 모두로 제공돼 소상공인의 선택 폭을 넓혔다.
이번 조치로 인해 지역화폐 유통 기반도 확연히 넓어졌다. 지난 한 달간 금산사랑상품권 가맹 업소는 80곳 이상 증가했으며, 신규 가입한 이용자도 1,800여 명에 달하는 등 지역 내 소비 확대에 긍정적인 흐름이 이어지고 있다.
군 관계자는 “지원금을 지역화폐로 지급한 덕분에 자금이 다시 지역 내 상권으로 흘러들어가는 효과를 기대할 수 있게 됐다”며 “소상공인 매장 내 소비가 늘어나며 간접적인 경제 파급 효과 또한 발생할 것”이라고 말했다.
