브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차와 기아, 서울대학교가 제조 기술 혁신을 위해 손을 잡는다.
현대차·기아 제조솔루션본부 E-FOREST센터는 서울대학교 정밀기계설계 공동연구소와 지난 13일 서울대 차세대자동차연구센터(서울 관악구 소재)에서 ‘소프트웨어 중심 공장(Software Defined Factory, SDF) 구현을 위한 MOU’를 체결했다고 16일 밝혔다.
E-FOREST는 고객의 가치를 실현하기 위해 모든 것을 유기적으로 연결해 제조시스템의 혁신을 추구하는 현대차·기아의 스마트공장 브랜드다. 현대차·기아는 인공지능(AI)과 로봇을 활용한 자동화 기술 및 인간친화적인 스마트 기술을 도입해 제조 시스템을 혁신하고 나아가 모빌리티 산업 전체를 고도화하는 것을 목표하고 있다.
이번 협약에 따라 현대차·기아와 서울대학교는 SDF 구현을 위한 핵심 기술의 공동 연구, 개발에 협력하기로 했다.
구체적인 협력 분야는 △제조 인공지능(Manufacturing AI) △제조특화 대규모 언어모델(LLM, Large Language Model) △예지보전(PHM, Predictive Health Monitoring) △디지털 트윈 △시뮬레이션 기반 생산 최적화 등이다.
현대차·기아 E-FOREST 센터장 이재민 상무는 “서울대와의 협력을 통해 스마트 팩토리 구현을 위한 핵심 기술 경쟁력을 강화하고, 글로벌 제조 혁신을 가속화할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
