[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 16일 거창군청 4층 대회의실에서 ‘제31차 가야문화권 지역발전 시장·군수협의회 정기회의’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
가야문화권 지역발전 시장·군수 협의회는 가야문화 유산을 지속적 발굴 및 연구하고, 지역 자원을 활용한 영·호남 권역 상생 발전을 위해 구성되었다. 2005년 2월 10개의 시군으로 출범하여, 현재 경남·경북·대구·전북·전남 등 5개 광역자치단체 소속 23개 시군이 참여하고 있다.
이번 회의에는 가야문화권 지역발전 시장·군수협의회 의장 조근제 함안군수를 비롯해 구인모 거창군수, 이상근 고성군수, 김윤철 합천군수 등 23개 시·군 단체장과 관계 공무원 등 총 100여 명이 참석했다.
회의에서는 2024년도 예산 결산보고, 2025년 하반기 정기회의 개최지 선정(고령군), 청소년 역사문화탐방 추진, 가야문화권 협의회 홍보 리플릿 제작 등 총 4건의 안건을 심의하고 논의했다.
구인모 거창군수는 “가야고분군이 유네스코 세계유산으로 지정된 데에는 자율성, 수평성, 다양성이라는 세 가지 요소가 있었으며, 이는 우리 협의회가 앞으로 함께 추구해야 할 중요한 가치이기도 하다”고 언급했다.
이어 “지역 간 상호 존중과 주체적인 참여, 그리고 서로 다른 문화를 인정하고 협력해 나간다면 가야문화권 협의회는 공동 번영과 균형 있는 발전을 이룰 수 있을 것”이라고 덧붙였다.
또한 “이번 정기회의가 가야문화권 협의회의 지속 가능한 발전을 위한 중요한 이정표가 되기를 기대하며, 우리 군도 이 여정에 함께하며 적극적으로 협력해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
거창군은 역사문화유산 정비와 가치 재조명을 위해 힘쓰고 있으며, 현재 거창읍 분산성의 문화유산 지정을 위한 연구를 진행하고 있으며, 가조면의 석강리 고분군 일원에는 정밀 지표조사를 실시하고 있다.
