홍태용 김해시장, '제53회 성년의 날' 축하

[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 제53회 성년의 날을 맞아 지난 19일 김해향교 유림회관 강당에서 성년의 날 기념행사를 개최했다고 20일 밝혔다. 

김해시가 주최하고 김해향교가 주관한 이번 기념행사에는 올해 만19세(2006년생)가 된 성년 20명과 부모, 김해향교 관계자 등 약 80여명이 참석한 가운데 1부 기념식과 2부 전통성년례로 진행했다. 

1부 기념식에서는 상읍례, 문묘향배, 축사, 성년의 결의문을 낭독하였고, 2부 전통성년례에서는 남녀 성년 대표 각 10명이 참석하여 관자(남자성년)에게 상투를 틀어 어른의 복식을 갈아입고 관을 씌우는 관례를, 계자(여자성년)에게는 비녀를 꽂고 족두리를 씌우는 계례를 재현했다.

성년례에 참가한 20명의 대학생들은 “전통 의복을 착용하는 것이 낯설고 전통 성년례에서 무릎을 꿇고 절을 하는 것이 어렵기도 했지만, 성인이 된다는 것에 대한 책임감과 의무를 생각할 수 있는 의미 있는 시간이었다”며 소감을 밝혔다. 

홍태용 시장은“성년됨을 축하한다”며 “혼인과 법적 절차를 부모 동의 없이 할 수 있는 자율성이 생김과 동시에 납세, 국방 등의 의무가 생겼음을 인지하고, 성년으로서 새로운 출발과 앞날에 희망이 가득하기를 응원한다” 고 말했다.
