세종시교육청이 학생들의 정신건강 위기 대응을 위해 실질적이고 촘촘한 지원에 나선다.
이와 관련 최교진 세종시교육감은 27일, 코로나19 이후 악화된 청소년 정신건강 문제에 대응하기 위한 ‘학생 마음 건강 증진 및 자살 예방 종합방안’을 발표하며 “학생 마음건강은 우리 모두의 공동 책임”이라고 강조했다.
이번 대책은 예방 ,조기 발견 ,회복 ,협력 등 네 가지 핵심 영역을 중심으로 구성되었으며, 전 생애주기적 접근을 통해 학생 정신건강을 체계적으로 지원하는 것이 골자다.
먼저 예방 단계에서는 감정 조절과 자기이해 능력을 기를 수 있는 사회정서교육을 대폭 강화하고, ‘마음 챙김’ 프로그램을 각 학교에서 확대 운영할 계획이다.
여기에 더해 교사를 대상으로 한 생명지킴이(게이트키퍼) 교육과 위기학생 대응 매뉴얼도 보급되어 학교 현장의 대응 역량을 끌어올린다.
조기 발견 체계도 강화된다.

또한 지역사회 협력을 위한 체계적 운영도 함께 마련됐다. 학교장 주도의 위기관리위원회와 교육청 전담팀이 상시 운영되며, 세종시청과 협업해 ‘생명 존중 안심마을’ 사업을 전개함으로써 공동체 차원의 위기 대응력을 키운다는 구상이다.
