이날 대통령경호처에 따르면 노태악 중앙선관위원장의 대통령 당선 선언이 되기 전이라도 당선이 확실시 된다면 곧바로 경호를 시작할 수 있도록 준비를 마쳤다.
이르면 투표가 끝난 직후 발표되는 지상파 3사 출구조사 결과에서 '당선 확실'로 발표된다면 바로 경호 업무를 시작할 가능성도 있다. 다만 이번 대선의 당선인은 자정 전후로 윤곽이 드러날 것으로 보인다.
