여당인 더불어민주당 소속의 박지원 의원은 이에 대해, 인터넷 저널인 페이스북 6월9일자에 게재한 글에서 이재명 새 대통령의 허니문 기간을 언급했다.
박지원 의원은 “이재명 대통령이 승리함으로서 지난 3년간 1,700여회 방송출연 외에도 강연, SNS를 통해 윤석열 전 대통령 보내기, 이재명 띄우기, 정권교체를 주창했다. 그리고 마침내 성공했다”면서 “이재명 대통령께서도 취임선서 직후 국회의장 여야 대표와 비빔밥 오찬으로 통합과 협치를 강조했다. 저(박지원)도 내란종식-무너진 민생경제-민주주의-남북관계 회복을 위해서는 최소한 1년의 허니문 기간을 국민 야당 언론도 주실 것을 부탁말씀 드렸다. 이를 위해 저부터 '험한 입술' 자제하겠다. 그러나 할 말은 해야 하리라고도 생각한다. 정치가 잘돼야 나라가 산다”고 강조했다.
