태안군의 미래를 이끌어갈 지역 학생들의 성장을 응원하고, 그동안 주민과 기관·단체가 한마음으로 모아온 장학금이 마침내 주인공들에게 전달되며 아름다운 결실을 맺었다.
군은 지난 5일 군청 대강당에서 (재)태안군사랑장학회 2025년 장학금 장학증서 수여식을 개최했다. 이날 행사에는 장학회 관계자와 장학생, 학부모 등 200여 명이 참석하여 자리를 빛냈다.
수여식은 특기 장학생들의 희망찬 축하공연으로 시작되었으며, 지역 사회에 나눔의 가치를 실천한 개인 기부자에 대한 감사패 수여식도 진행되어 따뜻한 박수를 받았다. 딴뚝통나무식당 이정원 대표와 태안신문 김동이 기자가 감사패를 받았다.
이어 진행된 장학증서 수여식에서는 총 3억 8150만 원 상당의 장학증서가 관내 초·중·고·대학생 총 223명에게 전달되었다. 장학금은 엄정한 심사를 거쳐 선발된 학생들에게 지급되었으며, 분야별로는 △우수 장학생 81명 △특기 장학생 59명 △복지 장학생 83명이다.
세부적으로 보면, 성적이 우수한 학생에게 주어지는 ‘우수 장학금’은 각 50만 원에서 400만 원이, 예술·체육·컴퓨터·외국어·과학 등 특정 분야에서 뛰어난 학생을 격려하는 ‘특기 장학금’은 50만 원에서 300만 원이 지급되었다. 또한, 어려운 환경 속에서도 학업에 전념하는 학생들을 위한 ‘복지 장학금’은 개인당 50만 원에서 400만 원이 전달되었다.
