대전시 서구가 별다른 안전조치 없이 '등산로 정비 사업'에 나서면서 시민들로부터 원성을 사고 있다.
규모가 작고 산책로만 개선하는 것이어서 별 문제가 없다는 입장이지만 안전을 담보로 졸속으로 공사를 진행하는 것 아니냐는 비판이 나온다.
12일 '브레이크뉴스'이 취재한 것을 종합하면 지난달 대전시 서구는 총공사비 약 3억 원을 들여 노후화된 '등산로 정비에 들어갔다.
공사 기간인 90일 동안 목재 계단 교체와 돌계단 설치, 노후 시설물 철거 등을 진행하는 것으로 알려졌다..
하지만 야외 주차장 한쪽엔 방부목이 쌓여 있다.
등산로 정비를 하면서 걷어낸 방부목으로 1급 발암물질인 벤조피렌이 함유된 클레오소트유로 처리된 폐침목이다.
발암물질이 나올 위험이 있어 밀폐 보관해야 하지만 아무렇게나 방치돼 있다.
