중견언론인들의 모임인 한국전문언론인협회(회장/김동성)는 6월 13일자 보도자료에서 이영선 진해 ‘이영선헤어터지’ 원장에게 ‘2025혁신리더대상’을 시상했다고 밝혔다. 협회는 이영선 원장에 대해 “40여년간 미용계에 종사해오면서 많은 표창을 받을 만큼 업계발전에 기여하는 한편 교원자격증, 미용실기교사 자격증, 직업능력개발훈련교사 자격증, 고전머리지도사 등 다양한 분야의 전문가로 국가경쟁력 강화에 기여했다”고 평가했다.

이 원장은 수상소감에서 아래와 같이 말했다.
“교사가 꿈이었던 저는 미용학과 교수가 되어 제자들의 진로 멘토로서의 역할에 최선을 다하여 후배양성에 기여하였고, 미용계에서 어느 정도의 꿈을 이루었다고 생각합니다. 새로운 꿈으로는 머리카락을 예술로 승화시키기 위해 2023년부터 모발공예작품을 시작하여 모발로 500송이 벚꽃을 만들어 진해 벚꽂 명당 경화역을 재현하여 부산시장배금상, 미용기능경기대회 금메달의 영광으로 경화역에 기증을 해 전시되어있습니다. 올해는 제55회 대한민국공예품대전에 최초로 기타분야(모발공예부분)로 도전하려고 준비 중입니다. 5월30일에 미용사의 길로 걸어 온지 38주년을 맞았는데, 남다른 감회를 느꼈습니다. 어쩌면 기피대상일수 있는 머리카락, 바닥에 버려두면 그냥 쓰레기가 되겠지만 적어도 나에게는 소중한 고객님들의 머리카락을 작품으로 재탄생시켜 박수를 받으며 널리 알리고 싶고, 이 분야에 명장이 되어 많은 사람들에게 인정을 받으며 미용사로 살아온 나의 꽃길에 마침표를 찍으려합니다.”
이 원장은 2005년 부산소년원에 이어 창원소년원 소년보호위원으로 위촉되어 아이들에게 봉사정신을 일깨우고 올바른 가치관 확립과 건전한 정신을 길러주면서 대안 교육생 중 결손가정이나 불우한 가정환경에서 생활하는 대상자를 선발하여 개별상담활동(1:1멘토링)을 실시하여 심리적 안정감과 심성순화로 교육생들을 밝고 건전하게 변화시켜 주고 장래의 진로결정에 좋은 길잡이 역할로 위기청소년 선도활동에 적극적으로 참여하였고, 또한 창원 '꿈 키움 센터'의 교육생들의 현장체험학습 활동의 중요성을 인식하고 체험활동 행사에 참여하여 교육생들이 올바른 생각과 신념을 가지도록 하는데 일조하여 법무부장관표창장을 받았다.
