경주시청 직장운동경기부 소속 박주아 선수는 지난 18일부터 19일까지 전라남도 구례군에서 열린 ‘제23회 한국여성태권도연맹회장기 전국태권도대회’ 겨루기 개인전 73kg 이하급에 출전해 준우승을 차지하며 은메달을 목에 걸었다.
이번 대회는 한국여성태권도연맹이 주최하고 대한태권도협회가 승인한 전국 규모의 대회로, 전국 각지에서 모인 여자 태권도 선수들이 치열한 경쟁을 벌였다. 경주시청 여자태권도팀은 이상제 감독을 중심으로 6명의 선수단이 출전해, 창단 이후 첫 전국대회 메달이라는 의미 있는 성과를 거뒀다.
박주아 선수는 강호들을 연달아 꺾으며 결승 무대에 올랐고, 마지막 경기에서 아쉽게 패했지만 값진 은메달을 획득하며 팀에 창단 이래 첫 전국대회 입상의 기쁨을 안겼다.

한편, 경주시청 여자태권도팀은 이번 성과를 발판 삼아 하반기 전국체전과 대통령기 등 주요 전국대회에서 다시 한번 메달 사냥에 나설 계획이다.
