박 의원은 이날 “IMF 외환위기 당시, 김대중 대통령은 아시아 최초의 평화적 정권교체를 이루어냈습니다. 그러나 당시 야당, 즉 현재 국민의힘의 전신은 김종필 총리 후보자에 대한 인준을 거부하며 무려 6개월간 국정 공백을 초래했습니다. 지금 이재명 정부는 당시보다도 더욱 심각한 국제 경제 위기 속에서 시급한 과제들에 직면해 있습니다”고 전제하고 “최근, 네타냐후 이스라엘 총리가 이란에 대한 군사 공격을 감행하고, 트럼프 전 미국 대통령이 사실상 이를 지지하면서, 이스라엘과 이란 사이에는 이미 전면 충돌 양상이 벌어지고 있습니다. 이 상황은 한반도 안보에도 직간접적으로 심각한 영향을 미칠 수 있는 중대한 국제 정세입니다”고 강조했다.
