Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, ‘Citizen Q&A Talk Concert STEP4’ successfully concluded
A talk concert without distance from citizens ‘held’ to mark the 3rd anniversary of the 8th local government... “Citizen suggestions as a starting point for policies”
[Break News Yangju=Reporter Kim Wan-young] Yangju-si (Mayor Kang Su-hyeon) held ‘Citizen Q&A Talk Concert STEP4’ at the Sinsan Market in Nammyeon, the previous jurisdiction, and had a time to directly talk with citizens about various current city issues on the 21st.
This talk concert is a communication program planned to mark the 3rd anniversary of the 8th local government, and is a representative example of the concrete implementation on-site of “Realizing a vibrant Yangju-si through communication and participation” presented by Mayor Kang Su-hyeon as the city government direction this year.
In particular, the fact that the ‘Talk Concert’, which was previously held mainly in the eastern part of Yangju, was held for the first time in the western part of ‘Nammyeon’ in conjunction with the opening of the urban regeneration festival ‘You and I and Yellow’ added meaning to ‘expanding balanced communication between regions.’
The talk show on this day was hosted by Yangju City’s public relations ambassador ‘Yang Sang-guk’ in a pleasant yet calm atmosphere, and was conducted in a format where citizens directly asked questions and Mayor Kang answered on the spot without any pre-determined questions or scripts, adding to the liveliness of the scene.
Citizens submitted questions through ▲ on-site microphone questions, ▲ note delivery, ▲ YouTube live broadcast comments, etc., and the questioners were of all ages and genders, from various regions and generations.
The issues raised here started with the opinion to change the name of Nammyeon to ‘Gamaksan-myeon,’ ▲ measures to revitalize Gamaksan tourism, ▲ strategies to differentiate the ‘10 Million Roses Festival,’ Yangju’s representative festival, from other cities and counties, ▲ establishment of subway stations and bus routes to Seoul, ▲ adjustments to direct buses and city buses, ▲ expansion of youth cultural facilities, ▲ improvement of pedestrian environments such as crosswalks, etc. They talked about local issues and daily problems.
Mayor Kang Soo-hyun said, “Citizens’ suggestions are not just simple complaints, but important voices that determine the direction of city administration,” and “ I will forward the suggestions received today to the relevant departments and instruct them to review them.”
Meanwhile, the 'Citizen Q&A Talk Concert STEP4' on this day was also broadcast live through YouTube channels, so citizens who could not attend the event could participate online. The Yangju City Public Relations Policy Officer, the Autonomous Administration Division, and the Planning and Budget Division worked together to systematically share all practical tasks, including pre-publicity, on-site operation, and organizing city administration-related inquiries.
