충남 태안군이 한국판 '산티아고 순례길'로 불리는 '동서트레일'의 시작점이자 상징적 도시로서 전국 숲길 이용자들의 뜨거운 관심을 받고 있다. 2027년 완전 개통을 목표로 하는 동서트레일은 한반도를 동서로 횡단하며 자연과 문화를 잇는 대규모 프로젝트로, 태안군은 이 길의 핵심 거점 역할을 톡톡히 수행하고 있다.
