지난 6월29일 점심 무렵, 동대문구 신설동 풍물시장 한 가운데에서 이래권 작가를 만났다. 이 분은 브레이크뉴스에 많은 칼럼을 기고해준 칼럼니스트-작가이다. 그는 이날 나와의 만남 사실을, 페이스북에 게재했다. 아래는 이 글의 전문이다.

“나의 위대한 상사의 낡은 신발!(The worn shoes of my great boss!). 브레이크뉴스-주간현대-사건의 내막 문일석 발행인의 철사로 꿰맨 구두가 주는 교훈.
지난 2010년부터 야인이던 내게 안기부 고위 간부의 소개로 이빨 발톱 뽑고, 브레이크뉴스에 첫 기고를 시작했다. 스승이다. 문일석 발행인. 그는 전남 담양 생(生)으로, 3,000원을 들고 상경(上京)했다. 그간 국정원(중앙정보부-안기부-국가정보원)의 기자-미디어 감시 대상이었다. 이런 언론사를 경영하기까지, 입지전적인 인물이다. 1980년대부터 김대중 전 대통령과 친했다. 뉴욕에서, 기자로 5년간 반정부 투쟁을 하기도 했다.

오늘 처음으로 신설동 고(古) 물건 사러 갔다가 풍물시장에서 만나 함께 선짓국을 같이 먹었다. 눈에 보인, 철사로 꿰맨 구두가 모든 걸 말해준다. 不立文字ㅡ以心傳心ㅡ觀心不要對話(불립문자ㅡ이심전심ㅡ관심부요대화)이다. 달마다. 산 달마(達磨), 달마다. 저녁에 또 만나기로 했다. 사람을 만나고 흥분되긴 또 처음이다.“

이래권 작가의 아들 이평구는 서울대 물리학과를 졸업하고, 이 대학의 대학원에 재학 중(장학생)이다. 천재가문이다.
