예산군 신례원2리, '생활여건 개조사업 선정'

충남 예산군 예산읍 신례원2리 마을이 대통령 소속 지방시대위원회가 주관한 ‘2026년 농어촌 취약지역 생활여건 개조사업’ 공모에 최종 선정됐다. 

이에 따라 해당 마을은 오는 2026년부터 2029년까지 총 20억 원 규모의 국비·지방비를 투입받아 열악한 생활 기반시설을 정비하고 주거환경을 개선하는 종합적인 개발이 이뤄진다.

‘농어촌 취약지역 생활여건 개조사업’은 정주 여건이 낙후된 농촌 지역 주민들의 삶의 질을 높이기 위한 정부 주도의 정책 사업이다. 주거 안정성 확보는 물론, 상·하수도 및 도로 등 필수 생활 인프라를 확충하고 주민 역량 강화와 공동체 회복을 도모하는 것이 골자다.

예산군은 이번 공모를 위해 지난해 11월부터 신례원2리 주민들을 대상으로 설명회를 개최하고, 수차례에 걸친 주민 회의와 전문가 컨설팅을 통해 공모계획을 면밀히 다듬었다. 이후 충청남도 예비심사를 거쳐 지방시대위원회 발표 평가까지 통과하며 최종 사업대상지로 확정됐다.

군은 해당 지역에 총사업비 20여억 원을 투입해 '재난 등 안전 확보', '생활·위생 인프라 개선', '마을 경관 등 환경 정비', '주택 정비', '주민 돌봄 체계 구축 및 주민 역량 강화' 등의 세부 사업을 단계적으로 추진할 계획이다.

군 관계자는 “정주 여건 개선을 통해 예산읍 신례원2리 주민들에게 큰 활력을 불어넣을 수 있을 것으로 기대된다”며 “주민 만족도가 높은 사업인 만큼 앞으로도 주거 및 생활 기반시설이 낙후된 지역을 지속적으로 발굴해 공모사업을 추진하겠다”고 밝혔다.

이번 선정은 단순한 기반시설 보강을 넘어, 농촌 지역의 지속 가능한 자립 기반을 구축하는 데 중점을 두고 추진되는 만큼 향후 주민 주도의 참여와 협력이 중요한 열쇠가 될 전망이다.
