(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 부천시가 오는 7월 12일부터 8월 12일까지 37개 모든 동 주민자치회에서 내년도 자치계획 결정을 위한 주민총회를 개최한다고 밝혔다.
부천시에 따르면, 주민총회는 동 주민들이 직접 자치계획과 마을사업을 결정하고 공유하는 자리로, 지역사회에서 주민 최고의사결정 기구로 기능하고 있다.
부천시는 2020년 제1회 주민총회를 시작으로 매년 주민 스스로 지역 현안을 논의하고 정책을 제안·결정해 오고 있다.
이에 주민자치회는 상반기 동안 자치계획 수립을 위해 의견수렴, 워크숍, 설문조사, 분과회의 등을 진행했으며, 앞으로 총회를 통해 주요 자치사업을 시민과 공유하고 결정할 예정이다.
주민총회는 해당 동에 거주하는 18세 이상 주민이면 누구나 참여할 수 있으며, 참여 방법은 동별 계획에 따라 온·오프라인 사전투표, 당일 현장 투표 등으로 운영된다. 일정과 참여 방법은 시·원미구·소사구·오정구청 홈페이지에서 확인할 수 있다.
조용익 부천시장은 “주민이 직접 참여하고 체감할 수 있는 실질적인 자치사업 확대에 중점을 두고 있다”며 “시민 한 사람 한 사람의 참여가 더 나은 부천을 만드는 힘인 만큼 많은 관심과 참여를 바란다”고 말했다.
