충남 홍성군은 한중 지방정부 간 우호협력 5주년을 맞아 중국 장쑤성 전장시 대표단이 지난 7일 군을 공식 방문했다고 9일 밝혔다.
이번 방문은 쉬수하이 전장시장 등 고위 인사들이 참여한 가운데 진행됐으며, 전장시장이 홍성군을 직접 찾은 것은 이번이 처음이다.
홍성군에 따르면 전장시 측은 당초 계획했던 오스트리아 방문 귀국 일정을 조정해가며 이번 방한 일정을 성사시켰고, 이를 통해 양 도시 간의 실질적 관계 심화 의지를 드러냈다.
대표단은 먼저 홍성군청에서 열린 간담회에서 이용록 군수와 만나 양 도시 간 자매결연 추진을 비롯한 교류 확대 방안을 논의했다. 이 자리에서 양측은 청소년·문화·경제 분야를 중심으로 지속 가능한 협력 모델을 모색하기로 뜻을 모았다. 특히, 군은 민간 중심의 교류를 기반으로 행정 간 파트너십을 더욱 공고히 한다는 구상이다.
