【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 남구가 지역 청년 창업과 혁신 생태계 조성을 위한 '대구광역시 남구 창업플랫폼' 조성에 본격 착수했다. 남구는 지난 15일 계명대학교 대명동산관에서 착공식을 열고 사업의 시작을 공식화했다.
이날 행사에는 조재구 남구청장, 신일희 계명대학교 총장, 정기환 대구경북지방중소벤처기업청장을 비롯해 주민 등 400여 명이 참석했다.
창업플랫폼은 총사업비 26억5천만 원(국비 15억 원 포함)을 투입해 계명대 대명동산관 1, 4, 5층 유휴공간에 연면적 약 3,800㎡ 규모로 조성된다. 준공은 올해 연말 예정이다.
이곳에는 창업보육실 35실과 코워킹스페이스, PC 실습실, 교육실, 라이브커머스 실습실 등이 들어서며, 단순한 창업 지원 공간을 넘어 청년과 기업, 지역 주민이 함께 어우러지는 '모두의 공간'으로 조성할 계획이다.
운영은 계명대학교 산학협력단이 맡으며, 올해 하반기부터 입주자 모집을 시작해 2026년 상반기 본격 운영에 들어간다.
신일희 계명대학교 총장은 "이번 플랫폼은 공간 조성을 넘어 지역 문제 해결을 위한 공동 프로젝트"라며 "앞으로 남구청과의 협업도 더욱 강화해 나가겠다"고 밝혔다.
조재구 남구청장은 "이 공간이 전국 최고의 창업 생태계 중심지로 거듭나 많은 이들이 찾는 활기찬 장소가 되도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.

The operation will be handled by the Keimyung University Industry-Academic Cooperation Group, and it will begin recruiting tenants in the second half of this year and begin full-scale operation in the first half of 2026.
Keimyung University President Shin Il-hee said, "This platform is a joint project to solve regional problems beyond creating a space," and added, "We will further strengthen our collaboration with Nam-gu Office in the future."
Nam-gu Mayor Cho Jae-gu said, "We will do our best to make this space the center of the best startup ecosystem in the country and a vibrant place that many people visit."
