대전시립연정국악원(이하 국악원)이 오는 25일, 색다른 국악의 매력을 담은 퓨전국악 뮤지컬 '낭만도깨비전'을 국악원 큰마당 무대에 올린다.
이번 공연은 메트라이프생명 사회공헌재단과 한국메세나협회가 공동 운영하는 문화예술 후원 프로그램 ‘The Gift’의 일환으로, 전통예술의 대중화와 지역사회 문화 향유 확대를 위한 취지에서 기획됐다.
2019년 출범한 ‘The Gift’는 재능 있는 예술단체를 발굴하고 지속적인 창작활동을 지원해온 대표적인 사회공헌 프로젝트다. 올해는 퓨전국악 밴드 ‘차차웅’이 선정돼 '낭만도깨비전'을 무대에 올린다. 네 번째 수혜 단체로 이름을 올린 차차웅은 민요를 기반으로 서양 악기를 절묘하게 결합한 음악으로 관객의 귀를 사로잡고 있으며, 전통연희와 현대무용을 넘나드는 퍼포먼스로 주목받고 있다.
'낭만도깨비전'은 고전설화 ‘혹부리 영감’을 현대적 시선으로 재해석한 창작 뮤지컬이다. 전통과 현대가 교차하는 서사 속에서 도깨비는 단순한 상징을 넘어 삶과 욕망, 인간다움에 대한 메시지를 전한다.
