[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 밀양시가 25일 구 밀양대학교 햇살문화캠퍼스 일원에서 ‘인구감소 및 지방소멸 위기 대응을 위한 밀양 도시미래전략 컨퍼런스’를 개최하고, 밀양의 지속 가능한 성장 전략을 논의했다.
이번 컨퍼런스는‘위기를 기회로’라는 주제로, 인구 10만 명 붕괴 현실을 극복하고 청년 유입, 생활 인구 확대, 고령사회 대응, 도시 활력 회복을 위한 정책 대안을 모색하고자 마련됐으며, 각 분야 전문가와 시민, 지역단체 관계자 등 200여 명이 참석했다.
컨퍼런스는 △도시·교육·돌봄 환경 개선을 통한 정주 여건 강화 △문화·관광을 통한 생활 인구 확대 △청년·6차 산업 중심의 지역경제 활성화 등 3개 주제를 중심으로 콘퍼런스 주제 발제-포커스 집중토론-결과 종합토론의 총 3부로 나눠 진행됐다.
주제 발제에서는 △정규식 경남대 교수(도시정책) △이병민 건국대 교수(교육·인재 육성) △황종규 동양대 교수(지역산업·농촌경제)가 참여해 아이 키우기 좋은 도시 조성, 청년 정주 여건 강화, 지역산업과 스마트농업 융합, 문화·관광자원 연계한 생활 인구 확대 등을 핵심 전략으로 제시했다.
