광복 80주년을 기념하는 특별한 보훈 문화행사가 시민들의 뜨거운 호응 속에 막을 내렸다.
경기북부보훈지청(지청장 손순욱)이 주최하고 의정부시청소년수련관이 주관한 "We art! 언제나 보훈 페스티벌"이 지난 7월 27일 오후 의정부 신세계백화점과 의정부역 사이 열린광장에서 성황리에 열렸다.
6·25 전쟁 정전협정일이자 UN군 참전의 날인 이날, 총 500여 명의 출연진과 운영진, 시민들이 함께했다.

올해로 4회째를 맞은 이번 페스티벌은 '보훈의 현대화'를 실현하는 대표 문화행사로 자리매김하며, 특히 '패션으로 보훈의 의미를 전하다'라는 주제로 차별화된 접근을 시도했다.
행사의 하이라이트는 1부 'UNiform Runway'와 2부 '광복 80, 역사로 건너오다'로 구성된 패션쇼였다.
1부에서는 UN 참전국 군복을 현대적으로 재해석한 의상들이 선보였고, 2부에서는 광복 이전 역사적 인물과 사건을 형상화한 창작 의상들이 무대를 장식했다.
이번 패션쇼의 특별함은 세대 간 협업에 있었다.

이상봉 디자이너와 전국 대학생으로 구성된 '7기 보훈외교단'이 수개월에 걸쳐 기획·제작한 의상을 바탕으로, 대학생들이 주도하고 독립유공자 후손과 제복 공무원이 함께 완성한 결과물이었다.
무대에서는 광복회 중창단이 뮤지컬 '영웅' 중 '장부가'를 합창하며 안중근 의사의 결연한 뜻을 전했고, 8기동사단 군악대의 힘찬 연주와 노래가 분위기를 한층 고조시켰다.
행사의 클라이맥스는 피날레에서 연출됐다.
전·현직 소방·군·경 제복 공무원과 독립유공자 후손이 함께 런웨이를 걸으며 코사지를 달아드리는 퍼포먼스를 통해 과거와 현재의 영웅을 잇는 상징적 장면을 연출해 관객들로부터 큰 박수를 받았다.

무대 뒤에서는 경복대학교 준오헤어디자인과 교수 및 재학생 20명이 출연진의 헤어와 메이크업을 전담했으며, 보훈외교단 70명과 의정부시청소년수련관 등 총 150여 명이 운영 인력으로 함께했다.
행사장에는 남주우 광복회장, 이재강 국회의원, 김동근 의정부시장, 의정부시의회 의원들을 비롯한 내빈과 시민들이 참석해 광복의 의미를 되새겼다.
대형 LED 화면과 음악이 어우러진 무대는 시민들에게 보훈을 감각적으로 체험할 수 있는 공간으로 조성됐다.
손순욱 경기북부보훈지청장은 "청소년들이 보훈문화를 주도적으로 기획하고 실현하는 과정 자체가 곧 보훈의 현대화"라며 "앞으로도 보훈이 의례가 아닌 생활 속 기억과 감사의 문화로 자리잡을 수 있도록 다양한 문화행사를 지원하겠다"고 밝혔다.

Always Veterans Festival," hosted by the Gyeonggi Northern Veterans Affairs Office (Director Son Soon-wook) and organized by the Uijeongbu Youth Training Center, was held successfully on the afternoon of July 27 at the Open Plaza between Uijeongbu Shinsegae Department Store and Uijeongbu Station.
