도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령이 이르면 다음 주 중 블라디미르 푸틴 러시아 대통령·볼로디미르 젤렌스키 우크라이나 대통령과 3자 회담을 추진 중이라고 미 언론이 보도했다.
미 'NYT(뉴욕타임스)'는 트럼프 대통령이 이날 유럽 정상들과 통화하면서 이 같은 계획을 공개했다고 소식통을 인용해 보도했다. 그간 트럼프 대통령은 러·우크라이나 종전 협상 중재를 위해 노력해왔다.
'NYT'에 따르면 트럼프 대통령은 먼저 푸틴 대통령과 회담하고 이어 젤렌스키 대통령 포함 3자회담도 추진할 계획이다. 3자 회담엔 트럼프·푸틴·젤렌스키 대통령만 참석하고 유럽 정상들은 포함되지 않는 가운데 유럽 정상들은 이를 수용한 듯 보였다고 한 소식통이 전했다.
