도널드 트럼프 미국 대통령이 7일(현지시간) 스티븐 미란 백악관 국가경제자문위원장을 미 연방준비제도(Fed·연준) 새 이사에 지명했다.
미 'AP 통신' '블룸버그 통신' 등은 이날 이같은 사안을 전했다. 미란 지명자는 앞서 지난 1일 전격 사임한 아드리아나 쿠글러 전 연준 이사 후임이다.

미란 지명자는 향후 상원 인준을 거쳐 잔여 임기인 오는 2026년 1월까지 연준 이사직을 맡게 된다. 연준 이사는 연방공개시장위원회에서 금리 결정 투표권을 갖는다.
