국회도서관(관장 황정근)은 오는 8월 12일(화) 오후 3시, 국회도서관 대강당에서 배우 겸 작가 차인표를 초청해 특별 강연을 개최한다.
국회도서관의 지식문화 프로그램 ‘NAL(National Assembly Library) 아카데미아’의 두 번째 행사로 열리는 이번 강연은, 광복 80주년을 기념해 차인표 작가의 장편소설『언젠가 우리가 같은 별을 바라본다면』을 중심으로 시대와 세대를 아우르는 기억과 연대의 메시지를 전하는 자리로 마련됐다.
국회도서관을 찾는 이용자에게 인문학과 예술을 접할 기회를 넓히고자 기획된 ‘NAL 아카데미아’는 지난 6월, 첫 번째 행사로 역사 강사 최태성을 초청해, 역사적 통찰을 공유하며 큰 호응을 얻은 바 있다.
두 번째 강연자로 나서는 차인표 작가는 위안부 피해자들의 삶을 다룬 소설 『언젠가 우리가 같은 별을 바라본다면』을 통해, 문학이 사회와 소통하는 방식과 우리가 외면할 수 없는 역사적 진실에 대한 성찰을 국민과 나눌 예정이다. 이 작품은 10년에 걸쳐 집필되었으며, 출간 이후 국내는 물론 해외 독자층의 뜨거운 관심을 받아 옥스퍼드대학교 필독 도서로 선정되기도 했다.
