[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 우원식 국회의장이 11일 거제를 방문해 거제시청과 한화오션을 찾아 관계자들과 면담했다.
이날 오후 거제시청을 찾은 우 의장은 변광용 거제시장, 신금자 거제시의회의장을 비롯한 국·소장들과 지역현안 간담회를 가졌다.
간담회에서 변 시장은 거제~통영 고속도로 건설 사업 예타 통과 등 지역 현안에 대해 설명하고 지원을 요청했다.
특히 “조선업 호황이 지역경제에 전혀 온기를 전하고 있지 못하는 상황에서 외국인 노동자 쿼터제 확대는 지역 경제에 치명타”라며, “지역과 기업이 상생하고 지역경제가 선순환할 수 있도록 정부와 국회에서 많은 관심을 가져주시길 바란다”고 말했다.
또한, 2019년 한-아세안 특별정상회의에서 공동의장 성명으로 채택된 한·아세안 국가정원 재추진과 관련해 “대한민국의 국격과 위상에 걸맞은 규모와 절차(예타면제)로 조속한 추진이 필요하다”고 강조했다.
우원식 국회의장은 “미국과의 관세협상에서 많은 기여를 한 MRO사업, 마스가(MASGA)프로젝트는 향후 조선산업의 새로운 성장 동력이 될 것”이라며, “건강한 노사관계 정립으로 조선업 발전이 지역사회에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있도록 시스템을 잘 만들어갔으면 한다”고 말했다.
한편, 우 의장은 앞서 한화오션을 방문해, 상선 건조 구역을 둘러보고 미국 해군 제7함대 보급함 찰스 드류함 정비 현장을 시찰했다. 해당 사업은 한화오션이 세 번째로 수주한 미 해군 함정 MRO 사업이다.
