거창군, ‘좋은인연 도서관’ 개관

[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 지난 13일 좋은인연지역아동센터가 2025년 어린이 도서관 지원사업인 ‘뉴스킨 희망도서관’ 지원기관으로 선정되어 개관식을 가졌다.

‘뉴스킨 희망도서관‘은 뉴스킨 코리아 회원들이 자발적으로 설립한 회원 자치 봉사단체인 뉴스킨 포스 포 굿 후원회가 전개하는 대표적인 사회공헌활동으로, 월드비전이 함께하는 어린이 도서관 지원사업이다. 매년 전국을 순환하며 낙후된 도서관 시설을 개선하고 신관 도서를 지원하며, 올해는 경상남도 내 지역아동센터가 대상으로 거창군 좋은인연지역아동센터가 공모 선정되었다.

이번 사업을 통해 좋은인연지역아동센터는 도서 공간 리모델링, 도서 1,000권 지원, 독서 교육 프로그램 운영비 등 총 1억 600만 원 규모의 지원을 받았다. 이를 통해 아동들이 쾌적하고 집중할 수 있는 독서 공간을 확보했으며, 센터는 다양한 독서 문화 활동을 운영할 계획이다. 

김동환 대표는 “이번 도서관 개관을 계기로 아이들이 책과 더 친해지고, 다양한 문화를 접할 기회를 넓히겠다”며, “지역사회와 함께 아동들의 꿈과 성장을 지원하는 공간으로 가꾸어 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

거창군 관계자도 “좋은인연지역아동센터의 좋은인연 도서관 개관은 센터 아이들이 독서를 통해 지식과 감성을 함께 키울 수 있는 소중한 기반이 될 것이다”며 “지역 아동들이 안전하고 행복하게 성장할 수 있도록 군에서도 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
